The TIK-585 Pipe Caliper is used to easily measure a pipe to find out the "Pipe Size". Unlike other calipers, this pipe caliper does not measure the outside diameter, it reads the "Pipe Size" for both IPS (Iron Pipe Size) and Copper Tube Size. A great tool for pipe insulators, plumbers, mechanics, steam fitters, etc.
Simply put the pipe caliper over the pipe and press the two wings together so the pipe is touching both wings and the head of the caliper. Then read the measurement for the pipe, IPS is used for black piping, PVC, and SS Pipe. CWT is used for Copper Pipe and SS Tube.
